Lucija Konda Labaš was born in 1975. in Zagreb, Croatia, where she finished Elementary School, French Alliance (internationally recognized School of the French language) and the High School of Art and Design (Interior Architecture Design). At the same time she attended the Music Academy “Elly Basic” in Zagreb/Croatia, course Cello.
In 1999 she graduated at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb with the Department of Painting (Mentor professor V.J. Jordan). During her studies she was awarded with the prestigious Scholarship of the city of Zagreb for the best students.
She attended MA in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia (2004-2006) with the topic “Possibilities of application of new materials in the field of art”.
She works at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb as a Docent in Courses: Expressions in Painting Materials 1, 2, 3 and 4, and Art technology 1, 2 and 3.
Fields of her activities are painting, painting materials and techniques, photography and video. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists and a member of Matrix Croatica.
She exhibited artworks individually in Croatia and in group exhibitions at home and abroad. She was a member of the Commission for review of teaching resources at the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports of the Republic of Croatia.
In 2012 she completed Postgraduate doctoral studies (the topic: “The concept and the role of faktura in a painting: display of development and an effort to define it”) at the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb, and thereby obtained the highest level of academic education and the highest academic title – Doctor of Art (
